After the end of the war, the Americans have started ‘Americanizing’ the Filipinos in all aspects of life. We were known as ‘Little Brown Americans’ following the Treaty of Paris between Spain and the United States, and the Philippine-American War. The term was coined by William Howard Taft, the first American Governor-General of the Philippines (1901-1904) and later the 27th President of the United States.

As the year passed, the world has entered a new century — its now 1900 — but in the Philippines, many villages lay in smoldering ruins, inhabitants were displaced and hunted down like animals, epidemic was rampant as death toll continued to grow but war is not yet over even though some cities have returned to normalcy.
